Where do you seek inspiration?  People? Nature? Animals?  When asked this question my answer is YES.  I am inspired by may different things.

Yesterday I went to the beach with my hubby.  I will go to the beach any chance I can get.  I love the sites, sounds and smells of the beach.  The roar of the sea is soothing. Walking on the beach lets me clear my mind for all the stuff going on in life, I can relax and let creativity come forward.  And when my feet are hot, the ocean feels great.

Just a few minutes from the beach in Lincoln City Oregon is Devils Lake.  We stopped there for a few minutes.  The first photo below was taken from a picnic table in the park.  What a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch.  The second photo was right next to a boat dock.  I’m thinking those lily pads might make a great paper pieced block………. I might have to play with that.

People can be inspiring. Today I went to our Quilt Guild Meeting.  Our speaker was Tonya Alexander from Stash Lab Quilts.  She is funny and a joy to listen to.  She brought lots of beautiful quilts to show us. I now want to cut my scraps into 1 1/2″ strips and try some of her quilts.  I’m also inspired by some of her quilts to make something of my own.

I really like her use of neutrals and brights.  Sew many possibilities.  I think her Diamonds in the Rough is one of my favorites that she showed today. She showed us the one on her pattern below and the baby quilt size too.  I love that she placed her brights in different spots, a simple way to change how the quilt will look.

I would love to hear where you find inspiration.  Leave me a comment and let me know.

Until later, Quilt Fearless My Friends.
